Taylor Project: Keeping the Legacy Going

Drug and alcohol abuse is a public health issue that we must fight against in our nation. But with respect to alcohol abuse and driving while intoxicated (DWI) the numbers of fatal accidents still prevail and drastically rise even in the day of COVID-19. According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, everyday, almost 30 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes — that's one person every 50 minutes. In examining, major metros and counties in the U.S. with the micro focus on Texas, locally, Harris County has led in most fatal crashes followed by Dallas and Bexar counties. While Harris County is located in one of the largest cities in the U.S. as a community, we have to band together to end the horrific affects of DWI/DUIs.

And I Stand President, Dr. Jayco McCowan, obtained an opportunity to reunite and speak to Mr. Chris Costa from KHOU Channel 11 News about the And I Stand (AIS) Taylor Project named after her sister-in-law Taylor McCowan who was killed in an fatal accident.

Click here for the full KHOU news article. As one of the major elements of AIS, we are dedicated to fight to bring awareness to this public health problem.
